Bring German to Life

Learning a language is about more than memorizing vocabulary—it’s about discovering new ways to communicate, think, and connect with the world.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic German Instructor to lead an engaging language enrichment program this fall. You’ll introduce students to German through interactive activities, games, conversation, cultural exploration, and creative learning experiences.

Your goal isn't simply to teach German. It's to make students excited to come back and learn more.

This opportunity is a great fit for native or fluent German speakers, language educators, college students, recent graduates, multilingual professionals, and anyone who genuinely enjoys working with young learners.

Curriculum guidance and teaching materials are provided, so you can focus on what matters most—building connections with students and creating an energetic, welcoming classroom.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fun, interactive German language sessions that encourage students to participate and communicate
  • Introduce practical German vocabulary, pronunciation, everyday expressions, and foundational grammar
  • Use games, storytelling, songs, challenges, cultural activities, and conversation practice to make learning memorable
  • Help students build confidence using German in a supportive environment
  • Introduce age-appropriate aspects of German-speaking cultures and traditions
  • Adapt activities and explanations to different learning styles and levels
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to try—even when students make mistakes
  • Create an inclusive classroom where every student feels welcome and supported
  • Monitor participation and provide positive, constructive feedback
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
  • Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
  • Arrive prepared, energetic, and ready to make every class engaging

🌟 What We're Looking For

You don't need to fit a traditional teacher profile. We care about your ability to connect with students and make German exciting.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Native, heritage, fluent, or advanced German proficiency
  • A genuine interest in language, culture, and education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An energetic, patient, and encouraging personality
  • Confidence leading and engaging groups of students
  • The ability to make language learning approachable and fun
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to follow a structured curriculum while bringing your own creativity to the classroom

Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring, camp, or youth experience is a plus—but not required.
