We are seeking a detail-oriented Communications Compliance Specialist to support a focused accessibility initiative. In this role, you will coordinate efforts to review, audit, and bring various organizational health forms, digital content, and public web pages into full compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

You will work closely with communications and public affairs teams to ensure that public-facing materials are fully usable and accessible for all audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Accessibility Audits: Review existing forms, digital documents, and web content to assess compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
• Content Remediation: Collaboratively work with program teams to revise, rewrite, or redesign materials to meet accessibility requirements (including plain language standards, document tagging/structure, color contrast, and alternative text).
• Digital & Web Support: Partner with web and program teams to ensure HTML content, PDFs, and interactive digital elements are properly remediated and accessible.
• Progress Tracking: Utilize project management and accessibility checker tools to monitor project progress, identify risks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct QA reviews to verify that accessibility corrections have been implemented accurately across all platforms.
• Guidance & Training: Provide guidance, best practice recommendations, and training to staff involved in digital content creation and publishing.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing compliance improvements, outstanding issues, and recommendations for long-term accessibility practices.

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accessible digital communication principles, including document tagging, semantic structure, and screen reader compatibility.
• Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and related document remediation tools.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a focus on creating clear, plain language content.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects, manage multiple tight deadlines, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on proficiency with common digital accessibility testing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Accessibility Checker, WAVE, Axe, or similar).
• Prior experience working within a regulated, public health, or enterprise organizational environment.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and standard web publishing workflows.
• Proven track record of evaluating and remediating complex digital content for WCAG 2.1 compliance.
• Recognized industry accessibility certifications (such as CPACC or WAS) are a plus.
