Dance and Yoga Instructor
Dance & Yoga Instructor — Pre-K to 3rd Grade
Lightkeepers International is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dance and Yoga Instructor to lead engaging enrichment classes for children in Pre-K through 3rd grade.
The instructor will create a positive, inclusive, and age-appropriate learning environment using movement, music, beginner yoga, stretching, mindfulness, and creative activities. Classes may take place at schools and afterschool programs in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, structured dance and yoga classes for children ages 4–8
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that build movement skills, coordination, confidence, focus, and self-expression
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Arrive prepared and on time with necessary music, materials, and activities
- Communicate professionally with school staff and Lightkeepers International coordinators
Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching dance, yoga, movement, fitness, or related enrichment activities
- Experience working with children in Pre-K through 3rd grade is required
- Patient, energetic, reliable, and able to manage small or medium-sized groups
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Background check clearance, or willingness to complete one, is required
Position Details
Position type: Part-time, contract-based / Independent Contractor
Schedule: Weekday school-day and afterschool hours; schedule varies by program site
Location: Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
