Business Operations Coordinator
BCM/VA is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Business Operations Coordinator (Communications and Professional Development) for the Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety (IQuESt).
We are seeking an organized and creative professional with experience in scientific communications, digital media, adult learning, and program coordination. The successful candidate will support the development and dissemination of research communications while coordinating educational programs, professional development initiatives, and operational activities that advance the Center's research, education, and workforce development missions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications and Scientific Outreach
Develop print and digital communication materials that promote IQuESt's research, education, and innovation activities.
Write and edit press releases, feature stories, newsletters, annual reports, blog posts, web content, and social media communications.
Prepare communications on behalf of Center leadership, ensuring consistency in messaging, branding, style, and organizational voice.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to translate scientific accomplishments into materials appropriate for researchers, clinical staff, leadership, sponsors, and the public.
Research emerging communication strategies and digital media trends to improve engagement and outreach.
Develop visual communication materials including presentations, infographics, flyers, and promotional content.
Professional Development and Education
Coordinate professional development programs, leadership initiatives, workshops, seminars, orientations, and educational events.
Develop and maintain annual education calendars and training schedules.
Coordinate meeting logistics, registrations, educational materials, speaker communications, and participant correspondence.
Apply principles of adult learning to assist faculty and subject matter experts in developing engaging educational content and learning experiences.
Maintain learning resources, participant records, attendance documentation, and program evaluation data.
Collect participant feedback and prepare summary reports to support continuous improvement of educational programming.
Support implementation of onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and workforce development initiatives across the Center.
Digital Media and Website Management
Assist with development and maintenance of BCM and VA websites, intranet pages, electronic newsletters, forms, and digital communication platforms.
Maintain web content to ensure information remains current, accurate, accessible, and consistent with institutional branding.
Coordinate multimedia content including photographs, graphics, videos, and digital learning resources.
Operations Support
Maintain databases tracking publications, grant activity, awards, research impacts, educational activities, and other organizational performance metrics.
Coordinate administrative workflows supporting communication campaigns and educational programming.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentation materials summarizing communication reach, educational participation, and program outcomes.
Assist with strategic initiatives that improve organizational communication, knowledge sharing, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Lightroom, and Smartsheet.
Experience in research administration and scientific writing/editing.
Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in a scientific field preferred.
