Job Overview:

The IT Specialist at Charm City Medical Center is responsible for supporting the day-to-day technology needs of the clinic, including network management, hardware/software support, data security, and troubleshooting. This role will be instrumental in maintaining clinical and administrative technology infrastructure to ensure seamless patient care and regulatory compliance.


 

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Provide onsite and remote support to staff for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and mobile devices, printers, scanners, and tablets.

Network & Systems Administration

  • Maintain local and cloud-based systems, including internet, Wi-Fi, and internal servers.
  • Monitor system performance, ensure regular data backups, and assist in disaster recovery planning.

EMR/EHR & Practice Management Systems

  • Support the implementation and optimization of electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management platforms.
  • Train staff and troubleshoot system issues related to patient data and scheduling.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and data protection standards are met across all platforms.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control for sensitive patient information.

Vendor & Equipment Management

  • Serve as the point of contact for external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Track IT inventory, order necessary equipment, and manage warranties/licenses.

Innovation & Development

  • Recommend technology upgrades and process improvements.
  • Assist with special projects including new site development, telehealth integration, and compliance audits.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Windows and Mac OS environments, Google Workspace, and EMR/EHR platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations, network security, and data privacy standards.
  • Experience with VPNs, firewalls, antivirus systems, and device management tools.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tickets, and support staff at various technical skill levels.
