Accounting Finance Intern

Summary

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Job Title: Accounting/Finance Intern

Location: Remote

Department: Finance / Accounting

Reports To: Finance and Accounting Division Director

Type: Internship (Part-Time) (Unpaid)

Duration: 4 months

 

Internship Summary:

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting/Finance Intern to join our Finance team. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in core accounting functions, including processing monthly transactions, performing account reconciliations, and supporting financial data analysis. The intern will also assist with occasional market research to support strategic business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

●   Record and review monthly financial transactions in accounting systems

 

●  Assist in preparing and performing account reconciliations (e.g., bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts)

 

●  Support the month-end close process by ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records

 

●   Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

 

●   Conduct market research to support financial planning and competitive analysis

 

●   Maintain organized and accurate accounting documentation

 

●   Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and reporting

 

●   Assist with other administrative or accounting-related tasks as needed

 

 

Qualifications:

●   Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

 

●   Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting


 

●   Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

 

●   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus

 

●   Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

 

●   Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

●   Effective written and verbal communication skills
