Preschool Teacher

Associative teacher job description:

Creative Clubhouse is a play based, progressive early education center. We are looking for a creative, motivated, and flexible individual to join our passionate team of educators, who would like to gain valuable experience in a non traditional education setting.

About us:

We are a play based, progressive education preschool program. We are child centered, with a focus on social and emotional development, process art exploration, and building connections with our natural environment. Our program is for children ages 3-6.

Who we are looking for:

Someone eager and enthusiastic about early childhood education. Our team is devoted to this essential time in a child’s life to develop and learn at their own pace, abilities and interests. We are looking to add additional team members who value this time in a child’s life to play, explore, and create. You are someone who is eager to support preschoolers as they: develop their problem-solving and critical thinking skills, facilitate both structured and unstructured play time, and execute the Clubhouse mission for each child.

Skills:

Ability to converse with children in an encouraging and supportive manner

Patience and flexibility

Ability to multitask and navigate a fast paced environment

Desire to be a part of a team as well as as the larger school community

Must be comfortable and productive in assisting with personal care needs of children (including but not limited to toilet training, feeding, and dressing)

Must be attentive to various situations happening in a room.  The ability to quickly assess and support the fast paced environment of a preschool classroom

Adapt teaching and instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of a mixed age classroom

Be physically able to sit on the floor and stand for long periods of time, and to move around quickly as needed

Be physically able to lift and carry fifty (40) pounds to chest height

Be physically able to climb and function within and around outdoor playground equipment

Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and other Clubhouse team members

Have an excellent understanding of early childhood development 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Assisting lead teacher in supporting children as they navigate their preschool year

Preparing, cleaning and maintaining the classroom environment daily

Participating in all aspects of the day,including but not limited to messy play and outside time

A portion of most days require us to be outside with children in all types of weather including rain, and temperatures ranging from approx 32 to 90 degrees F. 

Weekly meetings with the lead teacher 

Monthly staff meetings 

Participation in on site as well as off site community building activities.

Communicating effectively with all team members regarding the children in your care

Provide an engaging, safe, nurturing environment for all children to access their educational needs within the classroom

Be willing to accept constructive feedback from supervisors 

Qualifications:

Motivated individual to learn and grow as an educator

Education degree (early childhood or elementary education preferred) or minimum 3 yrs experience in an early childhood classroom  

Direct experience working with young children ages 3-6

Current PA and FBI background check and child abuse clearances

A strong communicator and posses an abundance of patience 

Hours per week: flexible based on business needs, part time <35 hours per week

Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible scheduling based on business needs
