At Odee Sports, we call our coaches "Strategy Analysts" — because the job is bigger than drills. We're looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable Rugby instructors to lead individual and small-group sessions, helping people of every skill level build technique, fitness, confidence, and a lifelong love of the game.
More than anything, we're looking for someone patient — someone who can meet a total beginner exactly where they are, without judgment, and make them feel capable and excited to keep learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging sports instruction tailored to participant skill levels
- Teach sport-specific techniques, rules, and strategies
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Ensure participant safety and enforce appropriate safety protocols
- Provide constructive feedback and track participant progress
- Adapt coaching methods to different learning styles and fitness levels
Qualifications
- Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor — this matters more to us than a perfect playing résumé
- Previous athletic experience strongly preferred — competitive and high-level sports background is a big plus
- Prior playing, coaching, or instructional experience in the relevant sport
- Passion for helping beginners learn new skills
- Ability to build confidence in athletes who may be new to the sport
- Ability to motivate and engage athletes of varying ages and abilities; experience working with adults is a plus
- Must be local to the Los Angeles area, with reliable transportation in and around the Los Angeles metropolitan region, and punctual
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Background check may be required
