About Us

Mecha Media is a media production company and the parent company of SlapStik Comedy Entertainment, a growing comedy media and entertainment platform. SlapStik Comedy produces a print and digital magazine, podcasts, video content, live comedy events, and original entertainment programming.

Our goal is to grow our audience, expand our partnerships, increase revenue, create jobs, and develop SlapStik Comedy into a nationally recognized all-comedy media network.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and professional Business Development & Sponsorship Outreach Interns to help expand our relationships with sponsors, advertisers, corporate partners, community organizations, and potential clients.

This internship is ideal for students interested in sales, marketing, communications, public relations, business development, media, entrepreneurship, or sponsorship strategy.

Interns will research potential partners, identify decision-makers, assist with email outreach, maintain prospect records, and help move qualified opportunities through the business-development pipeline.

Responsibilities

Research potential sponsors, advertisers, corporate partners, and community organizations.

Identify appropriate decision-makers, including marketing, HR, community-relations, partnership, and business-development professionals.

Build and maintain organized prospect and contact lists.

Personalize and send approved outreach emails.

Assist with follow-up emails and relationship-building communication.

Promote sponsorship packages, magazine advertising, group-ticket opportunities, production services, and partnership opportunities.

Update the sales and sponsorship pipeline after each outreach attempt or response.

Help schedule meetings with qualified prospects.

Research companies before outreach to ensure messages are relevant and personalized.

Assist with preparing sponsorship proposals, sales materials, and meeting notes.

Provide weekly updates on emails sent, responses received, prospects added, and next steps.

Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when representing the company.

Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable conducting professional email outreach.

Strong research and organizational skills.

Ability to follow up consistently without becoming discouraged.

Comfortable working independently and meeting weekly goals.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, CRM systems, or email platforms is helpful.

Interest in sales, marketing, sponsorships, media, entertainment, or entrepreneurship.

Previous sales experience is helpful but not required.

Weekly Commitment

Interns must be available for:

Weekly company meeting on Sundays from 12:00–12:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Business Development Team breakout meeting on Sundays from 2:30–3:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Approximately nine additional hours of independent work throughout the week
