Competition Type: Two-Stage Portfolio Competition
Eligibility: Current college students and recent graduates (Animation, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, or related majors)
Location: Remote / Hybrid
Commitment: 15–20 hours/week upon hiring
College Credit: Available for eligible students through academic partnership

📌 Overview

This Company Belongs To is an independent movie production studio developing an original animated series for its first season. Our storyboards, character designs, and setting artwork are complete — and now we're looking for the next generation of animation talent to join our production team.

We're hosting a two-stage competitive hiring event designed to identify three exceptional animators who will be awarded part-time positions with our studio. This competition doubles as an educational experience, allowing participants to build their portfolios, develop professional-grade character design and storytelling skills, and gain hands-on experience with industry-leading AI animation tools including Higgsfield.ai and Pika.ai.

Whether you're a current student seeking college credit or a recent graduate looking to break into the anime industry, this competition is your gateway to real production work on an original animated series.

🎯 Competition Purpose & Educational Mission

This competition is structured as an educational and professional development opportunity. Participants will:

  • Develop character design skills by reinterpreting existing character art under real production constraints
  • Strengthen story-setting fundamentals by working within an established narrative universe
  • Gain proficiency with AI-assisted animation tools (Higgsfield.ai, Pika.ai) that are reshaping the animation industry
  • Build a professional portfolio with pieces created under studio-level direction and feedback
  • Receive mentorship from the studio's creative director throughout the competition process
  • Earn college credit (where applicable) through formal academic partnerships with participating institutions

This is not a speculative contest. It is a structured evaluation process modeled after industry hiring practices at studios like Pixar, Disney Animation, and Sony Pictures Imageworks, adapted for emerging talent in the AI-assisted animation space.

Three (3) part-time animator positions will be awarded to the top-performing competitors.

🥉 3rd Place

Part-time animator contract ($22–$28/hr) + Pika.ai Pro account provided free

All three winners receive: Mentorship, college credit eligibility, letter of recommendation, and credited work on a produced anime series.
