Saffiyahfrica Inc is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to bridge the gap between the
underserved community and healthcare, education, and technology.
The Coding and Robotics Instructor will lead a class of approximately 10-20 students. The instructor will teach them a coding language and instruct them on how to assemble their robotic kits. They will also teach the students how to code their robots.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
● Assisting in the design and development of curriculum materials, lesson plans, and learning
● activities that align with STEM and robotics education standards and objectives.
● Teaching students fundamental concepts in robotics, including programming, mechanics,
● electronics, and sensors, using age-appropriate robotics kits and platforms.
● Providing technical training and support to students on the use of robotics hardware, software,
● and tools.
● Facilitating hands-on robotics projects and experiments that encourage problem-solving, critical
thinking
● thinking, creativity, and teamwork among students.
● Teaching programming languages and concepts relevant to robotics, such as Blockly, Python,
● Arduino, or C/C++, and guiding students in writing code to control robotic systems.
● Enforce safety protocols and best practices in the robotics lab or workshop to ensure a safe
● learning environment.
● Assessing student learning through quizzes, projects, demonstrations, and other forms of
● assessment, providing constructive feedback.
● Providing individualized support and guidance to students who may require extra help or have
● specific learning needs.
● Managing classroom or lab activities effectively, maintaining a positive and engaging learning
atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant for this position should have [experience/interest/background in]:
● Have strong organizational and time-management skills
● Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
● Have familiarity with social media platforms and basic website management
● Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Have enthusiasm for learning and contributing to educational and community-focused initiatives
