The English Ministry (EM) of Tacoma First Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington, is part of a Southern Baptist congregation. We are a vibrant, multicultural, and multiethnic community, uniquely composed of English-speaking husbands and Korean-speaking wives.

Position Profile

The Assistant Minister/Pastor will serve in the English Ministry at Tacoma First Baptist Church. This position focuses on leading worship, ministering to young adults and the younger generation, and assisting the EM Pastor in all areas of ministry.

General Responsibilities

• Report directly to the EM Pastor.
• Lead worship for English services on Sundays and Wednesdays.
• Manage necessary organizational and administrative duties for the ministry.
• Participate in preaching ministries, including Wednesday evening services approximately once a month, early morning prayer services once a week, and other occasions as needed.
• Provide ministry, discipleship, and mentorship to young adults and the younger generation within the EM.
• Assist the EM Pastor with various pastoral and congregational needs.

Qualifications

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Evidence of a faithful and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Completion of a Bible college program, or current enrollment in or completion of a seminary program.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated experience and ability in leading worship.
• A passion and ability to serve effectively in a multiethnic ministry setting.

Compensation and Benefits – Full-Time Position

• Annual compensation: $63,000
