Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Orem

Job Type: Internship (with potential part time/full time opportunities)

Duration: 3-12 months

 

Job Summary:

Byld Commerce is building a communication software that helps businesses build in-depth one-on-one relationships with their leads, clients, or cold prospects through an all-encompassing AI iMessage platform. The software includes a campaign manager, CRM integrations for contact lists, an in-house billing system, and reporting dashboards for key insights. We are seeking motivated and innovative Software Engineers who want to learn how to scale their productivity 10x through AI agent coding best practices, taught on the job by our head of engineering. In this role, you'll work closely with our founders, product team, and customers to design, build, and deploy specific parts of the software that solve real business challenges. We're looking for engineers who enjoy taking ownership of projects, thrive in fast-paced startup environments, and are passionate about being a part of a project that absolutely rewrites the way things are currently done in the marketplace. You'll have the opportunity to shape both the product and engineering culture while working on the team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy production-ready features across the full stack.
  • Translate product requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Build and maintain integrations with CRMs, payment providers, and other third-party APIs.
  • Collaborate with product, founders, and customers to rapidly iterate on new features.
  • Leverage AI development tools to increase engineering productivity while maintaining high-quality code.
  • Debug production issues, improve system reliability, and optimize application performance.
  • Contribute to technical architecture, code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience building modern web applications with TypeScript.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of projects from concept to deployment.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and continuously improving as an engineer.

Preferred:

  • Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, or AWS.
  • Experience integrating with REST APIs or third-party software platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and Git-based development workflows.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
  • Previous startup experience or a demonstrated passion for building products with high ownership and customer impact.
