Position Summary
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be the first point of contact for prospective customers. Your primary responsibility is to generate qualified sales opportunities by engaging leads, uncovering customer needs, scheduling appointments, and driving quote activity for the agency. You will work closely with licensed Account Representatives to ensure prospects receive an exceptional experience from their first interaction through policy issuance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Conduct outbound calls, emails, text messages, and follow-up communications to prospective customers.
- Respond promptly to inbound inquiries and online leads.
- Prospect local businesses and individuals to identify new sales opportunities.
- Generate appointments for licensed sales team members.
- Build relationships with prospective customers through consultative conversations.
Sales Pipeline Management
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline using the agency CRM.
- Track all customer interactions, follow-up activities, and appointment outcomes.
- Prioritize leads based on engagement and sales potential.
- Ensure timely follow-up on all prospects and referral opportunities.
Quote Activity
- Generate consistent quote opportunities that support agency growth goals.
- Collect accurate customer information to prepare insurance quotes.
- Work collaboratively with licensed team members to maximize quote-to-bind conversion.
- Support agency sales campaigns and promotional initiatives.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service during every interaction.
- Educate customers on available insurance products and services.
- Build trust by identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate next steps.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Technology & Performance
- Utilize CRM systems, AI-powered tools, and agency technology to improve productivity.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity goals.
- Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development.
- Contribute ideas that improve lead generation, sales processes, and customer engagement.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging new prospects.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or call center environments.
- Experience using CRM software.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Interest in obtaining or currently holding a Property & Casualty Insurance License (licensing support may be available).
