Duration: Wednesday, September 2 - Tuesday, November 3 2026
Hours: Approximately 15 hours/week (flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends)
Compensation: $1,000/month stipend ($2,000 stipend for full internship)
Location: Primarily field-based across various Utah legislative districts (along Wasatch-front, with majority in Salt Lake County)
About the BBAPAC: The Better Boundaries Accountability PAC launched in 2021. It was formed as it became clear that a majority of Utah legislators were determined to ignore the will of the people and enact maps that split up our communities to benefit incumbent politicians and political parties. We know that the people of Utah deserve more responsive leadership. By having a PAC, we can recruit and support candidates who care about voter rights. Better Boundaries Accountability PAC is committed to independent redistricting and accountable government for the long haul. We will continue the fight to recruit and support candidates across all political parties who understand the importance of fair elections, who uphold the Utah Constitution, and who promote transparent government. Join us by volunteering, donating, or even by inquiring about running for office yourself. Our team is dedicated to providing pro-accountability candidates with the tools they need to win elections.
Internship Overview: The BBAPAC is seeking a motivated and reliable intern interested in gaining hands-on experience in political campaigns and voter engagement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field and supporting a variety of campaigns. Intern will play a key role in helping BBAPAC-endorsed candidates mobilize voters. This is a highly independent role with meaningful responsibility and real-world political experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct door-to-door canvassing in targeted districts to support endorsed candidates
- Assist with Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts (including phone banking and text outreach)
- Support multiple campaigns with various needs (including literature drops or event setup)
- Coordinate with campaigns to provide updates on volunteer events and campaign needs to BBAPAC staff, board, and volunteers
- Track and report outreach efforts (doors knocked, conversations, etc.)
- Represent BBAPAC professionally in interactions with voters, candidates, and community members
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required)
- Comfortable working across political parties and engaging respectfully with diverse viewpoints
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to initiate conversations with voters
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision
- Interest in public policy, elections, or community engagement preferred
- Previous campaign or volunteer experience is a plus, but not required
