Student Political Intern -- Young People's Alliance
Young people are facing shrinking economic opportunity, an affordability crisis, and a loss of community. Emerging technologies like AI are further threatening to accelerate each of these problems. Neither political party is prioritizing these pressing issues affecting our generation, and as a result, our generation is losing faith in the American Dream. We have been promised an American Dream, but for many, it’s not becoming a reality.
The Young People’s Alliance is a moment completely led by and for young people to reclaim the American Dream. We are developing innovative, bipartisan policy solutions that actually work for our generation, building a nationwide grassroots network of young people, and achieving real policy change for our generation in DC and state legislatures.
We’re expanding opportunities to more young people across North Carolina, Michigan, California, Hawaii, and Nebraska through the paid YPA Chapter Fellowship. Students in high schools, community colleges, and universities are encouraged to apply.
Fellows will launch a chapter at their respective institution focused on engaging their peers with the political sphere. Activities will include building a grassroots base of young people to mobilize for policy change for our generation, organizing events that raising awareness about youth issues, executing policy mobilization events, directly advocating to political leaders for change, holding town halls with elected officials, hosting focus groups with fellow students to inform policy, and much more.
