Arts Marketing Intern
Seeking intern talent to support videography, content creation, and arts managment projects.
Embracing Arlington Arts is an independent citizens group comprised of arts supporters whose mission is to advance the vibrancy and health of the arts and culture in Arlington through programs, outreach initiatives, and projects that enhance equitable access to the arts and cultural environment. We are seeking an intern who is motivated to engage a diversity of audiences to support our vision of having all art forms thrive in our region through spotlighting the value, benefits, and need for the arts and to expand opportunities across diverse communities.
Intern Job Responsibilities:
- Support marketing and public engagement campaigns planning and execution.
- Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
- Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels through digital arts including podcast content (audio and video), story cultivation, and innovative marketing strategies.
- Identify and engage new stakeholders who can potentially support the mission of Embracing Arlington Arts and advocate for the sustainability of the arts in the Arlington County region.
- Assist in the management of website SEO.
- Support the implementation of a strategic plan that will guide the work of the organization.
- Assist in research through supporting the execution of listening sessions, stakeholder interviews, and survey distribution.
- Take part in formal and informal training opportunities.
- Measure and report the results of marketing and engagement initiatives.
Work Hours and Location:
- We offer a remote work environment with the expectation of some in person meetings during the week (day and evening hours) and to participate in outreach, engagement, and arts promotion events. This will be a ten-hour per week commitment for up to three months. Compensation is offered on a monthly basis.
Intern Qualifications / Skills:
- Applied understanding of basic marketing principles
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
- Background in arts management, production and policy efforts.
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of SEO techniques and best practices
- Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or currently working towards a degree in marketing, business, arts management, and/or an arts discipline including performing and visual arts.
- Successful completion of introductory courses in marketing, business, or equivalent.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Previous experience with the use of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro), Canva, and social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social) a plus.
