Finance Intern

About the Position: The Maryland Democratic Party is seeking an Finance Intern to support the day-to-day functions of the Finance team during the Fall 2026 internship program. This role will provide hands-on experience in campaign fundraising, donor research, and Election Day fundraising support ahead of the 2026 General Election.

The Finance Intern will play a key role in supporting all facets of the Maryland Democratic Party’s Finance team through the final stretch of the 2026 Gubernatorial Election, including Election Day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Support donor research efforts, providing essential information on potential new donors
  • Perform direct donor solicitation through call time to support events and fundraising goals
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraisers across the region 
  • Assist with data entry, tracking tools, and internal documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and functional office environment
  • Provide logistical support for events, trainings, and meetings (prep, check-in, materials distribution)
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
  • Interest in politics, campaigns, or public service is a plus

Employment Type: This is a temporary internship position running from September 21, 2026 through November 20, 2026. This position is non-exempt and is based in Annapolis, Maryland. In-person work in the Annapolis office is mandatory on Tuesdays (weekly all-staff meeting); remaining days are hybrid/remote at the discretion of the intern\u2019s supervisor. This intern is required to work GOTV Weekend (Saturday, October 31 through Monday, November 2) and Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, regardless of their standard weekly schedule. Prior to the start date, interns must submit their class schedule to their supervisor, followed by their final exam schedule once available. 

Compensation: This position offers an hourly rate of $20/hour, commensurate with experience.
