Social Media Intern

We’re a fast-moving startup building in the real world. Our work happens on the factory floor, not just behind a screen. Founded by SpaceX and NASA alumni, Relling is solving the manufacturing labor shortage through high-fidelity automation.
We’re small enough that your work will be seen by everyone and matter from day one, and we’re growing fast. We want a full-stack digital creator who is excited to help tell that story to the world.

The Role
We’re looking for a multidisciplinary Social Media Intern to own day-to-day growth across our Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts. You’ll be hands-on with everything: shooting short-form video on the floor, designing striking graphic assets for social posts, writing captions, jumping on trends, and figuring out what actually makes our audience grow.

This is a build-and-experiment role with real agency. You’ll work directly with our engineering team to translate complex robotic movements, like dialing in robotic arms and vision systems, into digestible, scroll-stopping visual stories and static assets.

If you live on the timeline, have an undeniable feel for what spreads, and can turn a rough idea into a polished, multi-format social campaign, we want to talk to you.

Your First 30/60/90 Days

  • By day 30: You’ll have shipped a full content calendar and published consistently across our platforms, including your first behind-the-scenes factory drops and branded graphical posts.
  • By day 60: You’ll have launched at least one recurring content series and run structured experiments across formats (video vs. static/carousels) with clear data on what hits and what misses.
  • By day 90: You’ll have measurably grown our technical engagement rate (target: 25% lift) and built the playbook for what comes next.

What You’ll Do

  • Create & Execute: Plan, shoot, design, and publish mixed-media content across Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Format Alchemy: You know how to take something that isn’t typically a social media post, like a raw manufacturing process, a niche hardware update, or an abstract concept, and turn it into a native format that reaches and hooks a generalized, mainstream audience.
  • Graphic Design & Social Encapsulation: Craft high-fidelity static posts, carousels, and visual graphics that elevate our brand identity beyond just video clips.
  • Translate the Technical: Work with engineers to turn robot demos, factory deployments, and firmware milestones into high-quality visual bangers.
  • Inject Bold Taste: Bring a distinct, scroll-stopping aesthetic and sharp voice to our feeds. Whether it’s high-fidelity hardware shots or dropping a satirical chart, you know how to capture attention and package a complete social post.
  • Grow & Adapt: Stay on top of platform algorithms, adapt your visual and written voice for each channel (LinkedIn reads differently than TikTok), and act on trends fast.

What We’re Looking For (The Non-Negotiables)

  • A Killer Portfolio: We need to see your receipts. Links to your own accounts, past design work, or campaigns you’ve run are strictly required.
  • Software Proficiency: You must know your way around an editing timeline and a design canvas. Hands-on expertise in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and/or CapCut is required.
  • Bold Visual Identity: A strong, proven instinct for tone, voice, and visual aesthetics. You don’t just follow trends; you know how to make technical hardware look undeniably cool.
  • Self-Starter Energy: You can run with a concept without needing your hand held.
  • Onsite Presence: Based in or able to commute to San Francisco (this role is fully onsite on the factory floor).

Nice to Have

  • A Passion for Tech & Taste: A genuine interest in robotics, advanced technology, and cultivating other forms of taste. Whether your inspiration comes from industrial design, automotive culture, or streetwear, we want that perspective here.
  • Visual Scoping: Experience with Figma is great, but broadly we are looking for the ability to clearly conceptualize projects, visually scope them, and move quickly.
  • Familiarity with scheduling/analytics tools (Later, Buffer, Sprout, etc.).

Why Join Us

  • Real Ownership: True agency over our social presence and the runway to experiment across mediums.
  • Behind the Curtain: Onsite factory visits where you’ll see exactly how hardware gets built and turn it into content no one else has access to.
  • Network: Work and connect with the best talent in San Francisco.
  • Perks: Lunch covered.
  • Mentorship: Direct exposure to the whole founding team, not just a marketing silo.
  • Growth: A real shot at converting to a full-time role based on your impact.

How to Apply
Send us your resume and a mandatory portfolio of your work. Include links to videos you’ve edited, graphics you’ve designed, accounts you manage, or anything you’ve created that you’re proud of. We can’t evaluate your taste without seeing it. The more real it is, the better
