About C-Strategies
C-Strategies is an award-winning, 100% women-owned, WBE and ACDBE certified strategic communications and public affairs firm led by government, public policy, and campaign veterans. We work with leaders and organizations navigating complex political, civic, and community environments.
We are offering paid fall internships for college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates interested in public relations, communications, and digital media. Interns gain hands-on experience, contribute to active client work, and work alongside a collaborative, fast-paced team. Many of our past interns have gone on to join C-Strategies full-time.
Position Overview
This role supports client and internal work across writing, media, and digital content. This role is best suited for a strong writer who is interested in public relations and strategic communications, with an openness to contributing to visual content and internal operations as needed.
Interns will be integrated into project teams and contribute to real deliverables, while also gaining exposure to how communications strategies are developed and executed.
What You’ll Do
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and social media content
- Support development of written materials, including blogs, newsletters, and website copy
- Monitor news coverage and conduct background research to inform client work
- Take notes on client calls, capturing key points and next steps
- Assist with media list building, press outreach, and follow-up
- Contribute to social media content planning and execution
- Support creation of visual content, including simple graphics and digital assets
- Assist with internal coordination, scheduling, and project organization as needed
- Staff and attend client events to assist with content capturing, press check-in, and other jobs as needed
You Should Have
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Interest in public relations, public affairs, and strategic communications
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through
- Proficiency in Google Workspace; familiarity with Canva or Adobe is a plus

- Schedule: Part-time
- Location: Hybrid (in-person 1–2 days/week in our Chicago office)

- Compensation: This is a paid internship
