About Eastside Academy
Founded in 2002 by a group of teachers who believed a different approach to education was possible, Eastside Academy is a therapeutic high school that was created as a refuge and place of growth for high school students who may not fit the mold of traditional schools. Through a unique blend of individualized attention and support in the classroom with comprehensive counseling and addiction recovery programs, we provide a safe community for students where they can begin the process of healing and restoration. We believe that every student deserves a second chance and provides a safe community where students can be known. For those students who feel overlooked, misunderstood, or out of place, we offer a warm and welcoming community that embraces everyone for who they are. By facilitating meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and teachers, we work together to create an uplifting environment where growth and change are possible. Each of our staff members plays a meaningful role in our students' transformational work. Every day is different, yet we walk away knowing that we've made a difference.
