Production Intern

Long Story Short Media (LSS) is an award-winning creative studio based in Washington, DC, that shapes storytelling to drive impact - with 80+ industry awards and four-time recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies. Our work spans event experiences, short film and video production, audio, graphics and animation for clients including Google, Nike, Robin Hood, and iHeart.

We're looking for a Production Intern for Fall 2026 to work alongside our production team and get real, hands-on experience across pre-production, field production, and post-production. This isn't a coffee-run internship - you'll be in the room for client calls, on set for shoots, and working on real client projects from start to finish.

What you'll bring: eagerness to learn, comfort in a fast-paced environment, and the initiative to jump in without being asked twice.

What You'll Do:

Pre Production

  • Take notes on conference calls and client meetings
  • Support external documents - research, briefing books, presentations, agendas, and more
  • Help keep the office running: filing, scheduling, coordinating staff meals, answering phones

Field Production

  • Build call sheets, scout filming locations, source props
  • Handle location and talent releases, both onsite and on file
  • Track location expenses and manage receipt collection
  • Support crew on shoots: gear load-in/out, assisting talent, coordinating crew meals and on-site needs

Post-Production

  • Log and transcribe interviews and b-roll
  • Source assets, music, and stock footage
  • Support social media: copywriting, scheduling, and publishing
  • Create subtitles and SRT files
  • Graphic and motion design work as needed, depending on skill level

Plus general office and administrative support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at a college or university
  • Primary focus in Media, Film, or TV Production
  • Prior production experience is a plus, but not required

Details:

  • Hours: Minimum 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling
  • Compensation: Paid, $18.40/hr - course credit available where applicable
  • Location: In-person, Washington, DC office

How to Apply:

Send your resume and a cover letter to jobs@lssmedia.com. Tell us what kind of stories you want to help tell, we'd love to hear it.
