Math and Science Tutor

Job description:

We are looking for dedicated tutors to join our team. We are actively seeking proficient Math and Science Tutors with expertise in a broad range of subjects, including but not limited to Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus. The selected candidate will play a vital role in guiding our students to reach their highest academic potential.

Responsibilities:

• Coach and guide students to meet their academic goals
• Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to provide personalized instruction and guidance in various subjects
• Provide homework help, exam preparation, and study strategies to help students achieve academic success
• Track and monitor student progress, identifying areas for improvement and adapting instruction to meet student needs
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including student progress and feedback
• Motivating students who need that extra oomph
• Attend team meetings and other Tutoring Club events

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, subject-specific field, or currently enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. (Required)
• Strong subject matter knowledge in relevant areas, such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, and/or Calculus.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Superb interpersonal skills and creativity to engage students in a way they can understand.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
• Previous experience tutoring students is preferred. (Preferred)

Experience:

• Calculus: 1 year (Preferred)

Schedule: Must be available at least 3 days from the following schedule or if you have open availability, even better!

• Monday 3:00-8:00pm
• Tuesday 3:00-8:00pm
• Wednesday 3:00pm-8:00pm
• Thursday 3:00-8:00pm
• Saturday 9:00-1:00pm
