Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our vibrant educational community! Hours: You must be able to work either half days or full school days during school hours. Half days would be 7:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Full days are 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday - Thursday. Friday hours are 7:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

 

Pay: $16.25/hour

 

Duties

  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively using proven behavior management techniques to foster a respectful and productive environment
  • Support students’ social-emotional development by creating an inclusive and nurturing atmosphere
  • Assist with curriculum implementation tailored to different learning styles, including special education needs and early childhood education strategies
  • Organize classroom activities that promote creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students
  • Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
  • Communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents about classroom activities and student progress when appropriate

Qualifications

  • Prior classroom experience or student teaching in educational settings is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation techniques
  • Experience working with children of various ages, including early childhood education and Montessori methods is advantageous
  • Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a passion for mentoring young learners
  • Knowledge of literacy education, creative writing, and tutoring practices is beneficial
  • Experience working in private schools or specialized educational environments is a plus
