Youth Wrestling Coach
Kumeyaay Trails Wildcats Wrestling Club (KTWC) is hiring a Youth Wrestling Coach for our K–12th programs. We prioritize athlete development, fundamental technique, sportsmanship, and fun over short-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Instruction: Lead practices on core Folkstyle mechanics (stance, movement, takedowns, escapes, and mat control) tailored for ages 7–18.
Culture & Mentorship: Build a safe, high-energy environment that fosters discipline, grit, and confidence.
Safety & Supervision: Maintain mat safety, proper hygiene standards, and organized practice structures.
Competition: Assist and corner wrestlers at local meets and tournaments as needed.
Qualifications
Experience: High school or college wrestling background; prior youth coaching preferred.
Certifications: Have or will obtain: Active USAW Coach Card, SafeSport certification, background check, and CPR/First Aid (Club will rcover/reimburse costs for obtaining certifications)
Traits: Reliable, high-energy, patient, and strong communication skills.
