Lab Technician
Location: Lincoln, NE
Pay: $21.50/hour
Join a quality-focused manufacturing team where you'll play a key role in ensuring products meet strict quality and food safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a science background or laboratory experience who enjoys working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Schedule
- Training: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
- After Training: Rotating swing shift between 2nd and 3rd shift
- Training typically lasts 6-8 weeks (may range from 4-12 weeks)
- Assignment expected to last at least 12 months
What You'll Do
- Perform analytical and sensory testing on in-process and finished products.
- Record and interpret test results using laboratory software (LIMS).
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and food safety procedures.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Collect, handle, and store samples according to established procedures.
- Identify out-of-specification results and communicate findings promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records.
- Assist with inventory of laboratory supplies and testing materials.
- Support quality, food safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to ensure product quality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a science-related field preferred.
- Previous laboratory or analytical testing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, or LIMS is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work rotating 2nd and 3rd shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work safely with laboratory chemicals.
