Public Service Worker - Parks & Forestry
The City of Woodbury is seeking a dedicated and skilled Public Service Worker – Parks & Forestry (Forestry Emphasis) to join our Parks and Forestry Division. This position plays a key role in maintaining the community’s high‑quality parks system by performing a blend of forestry operations and general parks maintenance. The Park and Forestry Division mission critical high impact areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to: horticulture, turf, trails, forestry, athletic fields, ice rinks, courts, play equipment, parking lots, native areas, general park maintenance activities, and park building maintenance. The position would also be involved in providing assistance to other divisions and departments as needed such as ice and snow control. This position will be required to work alternative schedules including evenings, early mornings, and weekends, as required for the city’s maintenance operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Possess or the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with required combination and air brakes endorsements within 6 months.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of experience in commercial or municipal arboriculture.
- ISA Certified Arborist.
- Associate degree in arboriculture, horticulture, biology, or a related field, or comparable years of field experience.
- 2 years of experience in park maintenance or similar field.
- Tree Inspector Certification.
