Direct Support Professionals - Family Support Services

Job Type: Part-time (less than 30 hours per week)

Pay: Starting at $19.12 (DOE)
 

Schedule: A variety of hours are available including morning, late afternoon, evening, and weekends. Length of shifts vary.

Shifts needed:

Weekday Shifts

  • 3:30pm to 6:30pm
  • 4:00pm to 6:00pm
  • 4:30pm to 8:30pm
  • 5:30pm to 7:30pm
  • 7:00pm to 11:30pm

Weekend Shifts

  • Saturday - 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • E/O Saturday - 7:00pm to 11:30pm
  • E/O Saturday - 4:30pm to 7:30pm (female staff only)
  • E/O Sunday - 4:00pm to 8:00pm (female staff only)

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for candidates to join our Family Support Services team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP).  DSPs in this program are responsible for providing active support to individuals in the family home and/or in the community.  Areas of support will include health maintenance, medication administration, personal cares, behavior management and life skills development. 

 

Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Accompanying individuals to community and social events
  • Assisting individuals with personal care responsibilities, administer medications and provide transportation based on individual needs
  • Supervising, teaching independent skills, and providing guidance to children and adults with disabilities and mental illness in a variety of home, community, and social settings
  • Documenting individual information as required by the Person-Centered Service Plan
  • Maintaining flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment
  • Completing the competency-based modules as dictated by the North Dakota Department of Human Service, Developmental Disabilities Division.

Other duties not listed above may be assigned.

 

Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current driver's license​

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
