Associate Veterinarian

Veterinary Medical Hospital of Clearwater (VMHOC) has proudly served the community since 1958. Under new, private ownership, we're honoring our legacy while embracing modern medicine, efficient workflows, and a culture built on kindness, accountability, and exceptional care.

We're seeking a compassionate and collaborative Associate Veterinarian to join our team. Whether you're an experienced doctor or a recent graduate seeking mentorship, this is an opportunity to practice high-quality medicine, build meaningful client relationships, and grow your career in a supportive environment that values both professional excellence and personal wellbeing.

What We're Offering:

Supportive Work Environment

Join a team that genuinely cares about one another. Our doctors are supported by skilled technicians and dedicated support staff, allowing you to focus on providing exceptional patient care while collaborating with a team that has your back.

Rock-Solid Benefits Package

At VMHOC, we believe in taking care of our people. We offer a competitive compensation package including:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous paid time off
  • CE allowance and CE days
  • Professional dues, licensing, and liability coverage
  • Uniform allowance
  • Exclusive pet care discounts

Work-Life Blend

Why settle for burnout when you can have balance? No on-call responsibilities, and real time away from work—because great medicine starts with a supported doctor.

Mentorship & Career Growth

Whether you're looking for mentorship as a new graduate or leadership opportunities as an experienced veterinarian, VMHOC is committed to supporting your professional goals. We believe in investing in our doctors and creating pathways for long-term success.

Prime Location

Clearwater, FL offers stunning white-sand beaches, year-round sunshine, and a laid-back coastal lifestyle just minutes from Tampa Bay's dining, culture, and entertainment. It's an ideal place to work and live, combining small-community charm with big-city access.

What We're Looking For:

  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Active Florida veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Interest in practicing progressive medicine while maintaining strong client connections

Someone Who Upholds Our Values

  • Pet + Owner = One – Great care honors the bond between both.
  • Accountability Through Ownership – Own your actions. Learn. Grow.
  • Education + Communication – Teach, listen, and explain with clarity.
  • Gratitude Through Humor – Take the work seriously, not yourself.
  • Accessibility Through Growth – We grow to serve better.
  • Culture of Kindness – Kindness is the standard, always.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, production opportunities, and overall compensation package. Open to discussing compensation and benefits for the right candidate.

If you're looking for a hospital where you can practice great medicine, grow professionally, and truly enjoy coming to work each day, we'd love to meet you!
