Responsibilities:
The Senior Technician will support research, development, test, and evaluation of smoke/obscurants (S/O), and dissemination systems necessary to protect the Warfighter and combat vehicles. The Sr. Technician will supervise junior technician(s) in support of the government customer’s mission, and will maintain, deploy to field locations, and operate smoke generator systems and ancillary data collection systems during field testing and assist in the evaluation of new products.
- Assist engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test obscurants and devices and oversee the support of other Technicians.
- Repair, maintain, and operate vehicles, small engines, obscuration equipment, and test equipment and maintain appropriate service records.
- Support testing, collect data, and record results.
- Assist with inventory and logistics for equipment including spare parts/supplies
- Provide technical support for on-site and off-site testing, including test planning. Move and place S/O generating equipment and munitions and test/data collection equipment at the range, maintain and operate systems during testing, and clean up the site and retrograde the equipment. Assist in data collection and analysis, determination of results, and preparation of test reports.
- Work will involve travel to military installations in other states.
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $70k - $90k
- Schedule: 40 hrs/week

Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- 10 years of related experience operating and maintaining military smoke and obscurant systems and related ancillary equipment in garrison and field environments
- Experience providing technical support and expertise to planning and executing field testing and exercises
- 5 years’ experience supervising others
- Must understand normal safety precautions and maintenance of tools and equipment, be able to handle hazardous materials safely, and understand electrical hazards
- Able to perform physical activities such as lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills in English and good skills with MS Office products
Bonus points if you have:
- Building, maintenance or construction experience is a plus
- Military operational experience
- Experience with military obscuration testing
- Associate’s degree
- Experience with R&D related to the explosive dispersion of materials
