Lead Teacher
Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate program activities for preschool children, assist in training students who are studying to become teachers and to maintain compliance with all program requirements for licensing and accreditation.
Education and Experience:
HS diploma, Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or (B-K) Special Education
Teaching or work experience in early childhood education
Have or obtain SIDS, CPR and First Aid certification
Copy of current medical examination and negative Tuberculosis test results
NC Criminal Background Check Qualifying letter from NC Division of Child Development and Early Education with approval to work in childcare in North Carolina
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
Prepare weekly lesson plans and implement activities.
Coordinate daily schedule and program activities with teaching assistants.
Provide responsive care and supervision to each child by adapting daily caregiving routines and plans to the interest and needs of each individual child and group.
Keep all environments safe, clean and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Assist with improving the classroom environment and playground to create opportunities to meet the needs of the developing child.
Maintain accurate records for each child.
Establish and maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and teaching assistants.
