Pay rate: $16 per hour
Hours per wk: up to 5 hrs

End Date: 5/6/2027
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform selected archives and special collections tasks in support of departmental functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and dust shelves, boxes, and other materials as directed
- Shelve materials and maintain directed standards of order
- Basic physical processing of incoming materials, and/or re-processing existing materials and collections to bring in line with updated standards
- Arrangement and labeling of files and materials comprising a collection
- Participate in ongoing inventory of collections
- Transcribe data into archives management program software (ArchivesSpace)
- Assist archives staff in building digital collections, including adding metadata and transcriptions to digital items
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in archives and archival work
- Alphabetizing and ability to learn Library of Congress Classification and local classification systems
- Basic computer knowledge and skills and the ability to learn new programs
- Detail-oriented, fine motor skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Highly reliable, flexible, adaptable
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
