About Ariventures Abroad
Ariventures Abroad is a 501(c)(3) that equips American students to thrive abroad and keep going back. We work with the students who weren't sure study abroad was for them, through Global Ready Workshops, the Ambrose Conrad McAuley Fellowship, and mentorship. This is a small team. You'll work directly with the founder and executive director, and your work will ship.
The role
We've committed publicly to awarding $15,000 to students in 2026, and fall is when most of the year's fundraising happens. This role helps us get there.
What you'll do
- Research grants and funders that fit our programs, and keep a pipeline of deadlines, fit notes, and next steps
- Draft grant applications, letters of inquiry, and funder updates for review
- Support the year-end campaign: donor research, appeal drafts, and thank-you and follow-up workflows
- Keep the donor and funder pipeline current in HoneyBook
- Pull real numbers and student stories from our 2025 impact report into asks and updates
Who does well here
This is a self-directed role, and we mean it. The people who thrive with us:
- Look first, then ask. The answer is usually in the drive, the tracker, or the guides. When you do ask, say what you already tried.
- Bring a proposed answer with every question. "Here's what I'd do, tell me what I'm missing" beats "what should I do?"
- Work from the goal, not just the task. You know what your task feeds, and you flag what's coming next before it's due.
- Own the how, escalate the what. How you execute is yours. Decisions that shape the organization (a name, a public number, a commitment) come to the executive director as options with your recommendation, not as done deals.
- Treat done as approved. You check your own work before handing it off, and you build in time for a review round.
How we work
In return, here's what you can expect from us:
- A written scope and 90-day outcomes in your first week, so you always know what the job is and isn't
- Every project as a written brief: the goal, the deadline, and where everything lives
- A standing weekly check-in at the same time each week, with async support between
- Scope changes discussed and put in writing, not assumed
- A mid-semester review, portfolio-ready work, and a reference who can speak to it
Details
Fifteen hours a week, flexible around your class schedule. Remote. Early September through mid-December 2026. $1,000 stipend for the semester, plus academic credit where your program allows (we'll handle the paperwork with your school).
