Quality Assurance Internship
Curtiss-Wright Engineered Pump Division, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is seeking Quality Assurance interns with a desire to both learn and contribute to a highly technical, quality focused manufacturing business environment. The Engineered Pump Division (EPD) has a long-standing and distinguished reputation for developing and implementing advanced technical solutions for the U. S. Navy. Our products are positioned on naval platforms throughout the world.
Our customer is demanding, our expectations are high, and our products serve critical-operation applications in the United States naval fleet of today and tomorrow. This opportunity will provide invaluable, hands-on Quality Assurance experience for the right candidates.
This candidate should be an engineering student (other relevant technical majors will be considered), who expresses an interest in working to assist with Quality Assurance related projects across multiple departments. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage various deliverables as well as thrive in a team-orientated environment.
Examples of job duties:
Supplier Quality Engineering – Evaluate supplier performance from a quality stand point; Evaluate supplier nonconforming conditions to discern root cause and work with supplier to implement corrective action; Evaluate new suppliers from a technical perspective to verify qualification to meet order requirements.
Quality Assurance – Evaluate product certifications to verify conformity to required purchase order, drawing, and/or military specification; Assist with internal and external Quality Management System audits; Assist with Corrective Action/Preventative Action implementation and close out.
Quality Control – Assist in inspecting components to drawing requirements; Assist in assembly inspection; Assist in final acceptance of completed units prior to shipment.
Operational Excellence – Participate in improvement events regarding processes, procedures, etc.
Assist in the performance of production hydraulic testing of pumps.
Assist in the evaluation & conducting instrumentation calibration.
Candidate requirements:
Sole United States citizenship as required by our customer.
Able to commute to our Bethlehem, PA location.
Wages are $19/hour based on a forty-hour workweek.
