CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

Summary:
Under direction supervision; assist in the evaluation of patient status and provides basic bedside respiratory care (determined prior to hire in the organization – subject to change as skill levels increase.)
Responsibilities:
Under direction supervision, assist in the evaluation of patient status and provides basic bedside respiratory care (determined prior to hire in the organization – subject to change as skill levels increase). Displays abilities to perform specific procedures associated with respiratory therapy to the patient following a prescribed treatment plan by the physician and company policies and procedures. Performs patient/family education and maintains all necessary related documentation.
Must have basic understanding of respiratory disease processes. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and development; ability to accept scheduling/placement designations determined prior to hire in organization. Must have good customer relations skills and basic computer skills.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current student enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
Experience
- None required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- CPR (American Heart Association)
