Twos Preschool Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Twos Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. We are opening a brand new nature based preschool in Huntersville NC for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, a love for teaching children outside in all weather, experience working with young children, particularly toddlers. This role involves creating a nurturing learning environment that promotes literacy, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills through engaging lesson plans and age-appropriate activities. The Twos Preschool Teacher will play a vital role in fostering a love of learning while ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in their care. Hours for teachers: T, W, TR from 8:30-12:30PM.

Duties

  • Implement our developmentally appropriate curricula tailored to toddlers, incorporating language and literacy education, math and science education, and more.
  • Plan and execute engaging daily lesson plans that promote early intervention, behavior management, and childhood development milestones.
  • Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and socialization.
  • Monitor and assess individual child progress through observations and assessments over the course of the year.
  • Foster positive behavior management techniques to support social-emotional growth and conflict resolution among children.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to communicate developmental progress and address individual needs related to special education or child welfare concerns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of classroom activities, student progress, and compliance with school standards.
  • Support the overall well-being of children by ensuring proper toddler care practices are followed consistently throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; classroom experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, nature based education methods is highly desirable.
  • Background in special education or early intervention programs is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering a nurturing environment for young learners.
  • Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
