Preschool Instructional Assistant (ID 3046) - Open
Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Preschool Instructional Assistant. Under general supervision, the Preschool Instructional Assistant assists in the supervision, care and instruction of children ages birth to age 5, and assists in preparing and organizing preschool activities and materials in the State funded infant-toddler or Preschool Program.
The current assignment is located in National City as part of the Early Education department in the Learning and Leadership Services division within SDCOE.
Please note that while this current assignment is for the location listed, employees of SDCOE may be administratively reassigned to other locations based on organizational needs.
Please note that this position(s) is funded through grant and/or specially-funded programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a combination of completion of high school or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) semester units or equivalent quarter units of post-secondary child development or early childhood education course work from an accredited college or university within three years of hire date; and experience (paid or volunteer) working in a licensed child care facility serving children ages birth to five
Certificates and Licenses:
- CPR certification is required
- Proof of all required vaccinations, including measles and pertussis vaccines.
- Child Development Assistant or Associate Permit with 3 units in infant care is highly desirable

Type of examination(s) for this classification: Applications will be reviewed, and candidates whose qualifications most closely match the classification requirements will be invited to participate in a competitive examination process. The results of this recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill the current vacancy and any other vacancies in this classification for the next six (6) months, or until the list is terminated.
