New Graduate Engineer (2026 - 2027 Graduates)
Position Overview
The Field/Office Engineer is responsible for assisting management in the supervision, daily planning, temporary structure design, and construction of unique and challenging bridge and/or heavy civil and marine projects throughout the United States.
He or she will be responsible for reviewing and understanding contract drawings and specifications, assisting in the work planning process, resolving technical issues, and project problem resolution.
He or she also reinforces Massman’s Incident & Injury Free Initiative along with our corporate mission and vision statement in the daily performance of their work.
Internship Locations
Our anticipated locations for full-time positions could include any of the following:
- Kansas City, MO
- St. Louis, MO
- New Orleans, LA
- Mobile, AL
Key Responsibilities
- Be an Incident & Injury Free leader
- Work with the Project Engineer to develop and monitor RFIs and document and communicate revisions with all project personnel
- Develop lift plans and work plans with applicable team members and work closely with field leadership and crews to ensure work is executed in accordance with these plans
- Develop and monitor transmittal logs for the project, including timely submittals for subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure timely delivery of permanent materials and proper performance of on-site work
- Maintain progress payments documentation for subcontractors, major material suppliers, and the Owner
- Work closely with Safety Supervisor to ensure Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) are correct for specific operations
- Perform, assist, or oversee project surveying as required
- Perform or assist with quality inspections to ensure all work is performed correctly
- Work with the Project Engineer to coordinate each week's quantities, time cards, and cost coding of work
- Assure project documentation is produced or accumulated on time
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Interest in working for an industry leading self-performing heavy civil and marine construction contractor.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Previous experience in or exposure to the heavy civil and/or marine construction industry
- Self-motivated and proven ability to lead collaborative efforts
- Excellent grammar, composition, and verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 & Auto-Cad
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
Travel Requirements
- Limited travel may be required. Relocation may be required in response to other opportunities.
