Biology Intern – Bioleaching & Critical Minerals Recovery
About Infinite Elements
Infinite Elements develops innovative technologies to recover critical minerals from mining 
waste—including tailings and slags—as well as electronic waste. Our multidisciplinary 
team combines biology, chemistry, and engineering to develop sustainable extraction 
processes that transform underutilized resources into valuable raw materials.
As a Biology Intern, you will work alongside scientists and engineers to support the 
development and optimization of bioleaching processes used to recover valuable metals 
from secondary resources. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to applied 
biotechnology research with real-world industrial applications.
Responsibilities
• Assist with bioleaching experiments at laboratory and pilot scales.
• Prepare microbial cultures, media, and biological samples.
• Monitor biological process parameters including pH, temperature, and microbial 
activity.
• Collect, record, and analyze experimental data.
• Support optimization of biological metal extraction processes.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and science teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, 
Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Interest in microbiology, environmental biotechnology, mining, or sustainable 
resource recovery.
• Strong laboratory, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research 
environment.
