About TRU Venture Marketing, LLC
At TRU Venture Marketing, we deliver a better marketing experience. We're a Reno-based team of lead generation experts here to help businesses grow their brand presence and bottom line — through PPC strategy, lead generation, tracking and analytics.
Three things set us apart: speed as a habit, transparent communication (we don't hide behind reports — we treat every partner like our own business), and a scientific approach (we test and improve to drive more of what matters: leads and sales).
We're the Adventurers — a collaborative team that pushes the boundaries of what's possible for our clients, because your success is our success.
Internship Description:
The role:
We're looking for a curious, people-first marketer who wants to build a career in Marketing. This is an internship with a clear path: start by learning the fundamentals, building reports, drafting creative, and supporting the team -- then grow into owning client relationships and strategy. If you're as comfortable working with a team as you are building a report, keep reading.
What you'll get:
A paid apprenticeship with a real path into a Coordinator or Strategist role
Hands-on mentorship across client work, project management, and marketing strategy
Real client exposure early — not busywork
A hybrid setup in Reno and a highly collaborative team that likes what it does
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 150 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
What you'll do
- You'll work across the business and grow into more responsibility over time:
- Sit in on client meetings, take sharp notes, and help keep everyone aligned
- Assist with project management — tracking deliverables, deadlines, and next steps
- Draft ad creative for Google and Meta campaigns
- Support and optimize Google Business Profile (GBP) listings
- Build and help interpret client performance reports
- Learn digital marketing fundamentals and strategy from the ground up
- Lead internal meetings and, over time, help drive client conversations
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
You might be a fit if you:
- Are people-oriented — you communicate clearly and enjoy working with a teas
- Are organized enough to juggle several projects, deadlines, and details without dropping the ball
- Are curious about the "why" behind marketing and eager to learn strategy, not just execute tasks
- Are comfortable getting hands-on with tools like Google Ads, Meta, and Google Business Profile — we'll teach the rest
- Aren't afraid to do a bit of math to build reports (analytics is a big part of what we do)
- Bring energy, initiative, and a "let's just try it" attitude
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘26 semester
- Summer ‘26 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Student must be enrolled in a major or minor program in the following colleges:
- Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources (CABNR)
- Business
- Engineering
- Science
- Public Health/Orvis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional, people-first attitude — this role is client-facing from early on.
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines without dropping details.
- Comfortable with everyday tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and quick to learn new software.
- Genuine curiosity about digital marketing and a willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism/Media, Advertising/PR, or a related field (analytics- or data-minded majors like Information Systems or Statistics are also a plus).
- Familiarity with any of the following is a strong bonus, though we're happy to teach: Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, spreadsheets and basic data interpretation, social media or content creation, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
- Above all, an all-star brings strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the drive to grow into a coordinator or strategist role.
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Approximately 15 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Hours are flexible and will be arranged around the student's class schedule.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 150 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
