Internship Description:
Alpha Productions Technologies, Inc. is a non-profit electronics manufacturer in Sparks, Nevada. We build cable and wire harness assemblies for businesses. We also employ and train people with cognitive and developmental disabilities, so every order we fill helps our team build skills and hold steady jobs.
As a Sales & Marketing Intern working directly with Alpha's leadership team, you will learn how organizations identify new business opportunities, build client relationships, and communicate the value of their products and services by finding companies that need assembly work, learning what they need, and setting up calls with our leadership.
This internship provides an opportunity to develop professional communication, business development, market research, relationship-building, and sales strategy skills. Through mentorship, guided training, and real-world application, you will gain insight into business-to-business (B2B) sales processes and the role business development plays in supporting nonprofit operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Call past clients to reconnect, learn about their current needs, and update our records.
- Call potential new clients to introduce Alpha and find out if they have assembly work coming up.
- Ask clear questions to understand what each company actually needs.
- Set up calls between interested companies and Alpha's leadership.
- Log every call and keep clean notes in our tracking system, whether that is a simple CRM or a spreadsheet.
- Once comfortable, help run an outbound campaign that combines calls and emails.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
The intern starts by calling people who already know Alpha. As they gain confidence, they move to new prospects and a calls-and-email campaign.
We expect the intern to:
- Show up on time and ready for each shift.
- Make 5 to 10 calls an hour during call blocks.
- Keep accurate notes so we always know where each contact stands.
- Set up a steady number of leadership calls each week as they ramp up.
- Ask for help when they need it.
We will set specific call and meeting targets together in the first couple of weeks, once we see the rhythm of the work. By the end of the internship, the intern should feel comfortable on the phone, understand how a sales funnel works, and have helped fill Alpha's funnel with real opportunities.
