Responsibilities
1) Institutional Priority Alignment: Undergraduate Instruction/Teaching; Front-facing student recruitment
2) 2 (two) 10 hour/week, on-campus
Each position is responsible for supporting the economics faculty with duties to include: 1) grading, proctoring exams, tutoring support for undergraduate and previously-taken graduate courses; 2) assist with pre-college outreach and recruitment activities (K-12 teacher workshops, SCSU’s high school Heartland Economics Challenge); 3) research assistance (data entry/collection, analysis, literature review); 4) occasional on-site assistance, copying, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities
Undergraduate degree in economics, skills in Microsoft Office and econometric software, experience in research, writing and oral skills.
Outcomes
• Students will critique the undergraduate students understanding of economic theory by assisting faculty with grading and other evaluation tools in economics courses.
• Students will gain a better understanding of quantitative methods, research methods, and professional writing through assisting faculty with research projects.
• Students will develop a strong work ethic and professionalism under faculty supervision.
