IT Help Desk Technician (Entry-Level)

Location: 100% Onsite in Charlotte, NC

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Entry-Level IT Help Desk Technician to join our growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals beginning their IT careers to gain hands-on experience supporting end users, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining computer systems in a professional environment.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong problem-solving skills, and enjoys helping others with technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, chat, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
  • Set up user accounts, reset passwords, and manage basic Active Directory tasks.
  • Install and update operating systems and business applications.
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
  • Assist with workstation deployments, equipment inventory, and IT asset management.
  • Maintain excellent customer service while meeting response and resolution goals.
  • Follow company IT policies, security standards, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical field.
  • 0–1 year of IT support experience (internships, lab experience, or relevant coursework are encouraged to apply).
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Zendesk.
  • Basic knowledge of remote support tools.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
