Video Editor | Role Description

In short

As a Video Editor, you will serve as a primary content editor to the creative and product leadership team. Your mission is to translate our creative vision into cohesive video edits, ensuring all deliverables align with creative guidelines. This is a role that demands a blend of tasteful cultural understanding and visionary creative direction to deliver high-impact assets at the intersection of entertainment, storytelling, and contemporary culture.

Your Mission

Own the Edit

  • Serve as a primary editor across the full spectrum of our content, from quick-turn social to long-form episodic, translating raw footage and creative direction into finished, on-brand deliverables.
  • Shape the editorial voice of each project, bringing taste in pacing, music, and sound design to every cut.
  • Handle the edit end to end: assembly, structure, sound, basic color and finishing, and clean exports to spec.

Set the Creative Bar

  • Uphold editorial standards and creative guidelines that keep our output consistent and premium across formats and platforms.
  • Take direction and return a cut that exceeds the brief, elevating the material beyond what was asked.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, versioning, and delivery so quality holds as volume scales.

Partner with Leadership

  • Work directly with creative and executive leadership to align every edit with the larger vision for each IP.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and the founding team to find the story in the footage.
  • Move at studio quality and startup speed, balancing craft with the pace of a founder-led slate.

Your story

  • You are a versatile editor with experience cutting a range of content, and a portfolio that proves diverse range across formats and genres, not just one lane.
  • You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects) or equivalent, and you're comfortable in DaVinci Resolve for color and finishing.
  • You have deep fluency in cinematic language. You think in terms of tension, release, texture, and tone, and you apply it at every length, from a social spot to an episode.
  • You have exceptional taste in music, sound design, and pacing, and you understand that sound is half the story.
  • You bring motion graphics capability for title cards, lower thirds, and light VFX.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led environment where creative
  • You have a genuine love for storytelling and culture. You're as likely to reference a Kehinde Wiley composition as a Fincher trailer.

Compensation
