MCAT Instructor

MCAT Instructor Job Description (Summary)

An MCAT Instructor at MDI Prep is responsible for teaching and mentoring pre-medical students preparing for the MCAT through live online and/or in-person instruction. Instructors help students master high-yield science concepts, develop effective test-taking strategies, and improve critical reasoning skills while providing an engaging and supportive learning environment. Primary Responsibilities

Teach MCAT content in Biology, Biochemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Psychology/Sociology, and CARS.

Deliver live online and/or in-person classes using the MDI Prep curriculum.

Explain complex scientific concepts in a clear, organized, and engaging manner.

Guide students through MCAT-style passages and practice questions.

Incorporate effective test-taking strategies and critical reasoning techniques into instruction.

Answer student questions during class and office hours.

Provide individualized academic support and mentorship.

Review student performance and identify areas requiring additional practice.

Record class sessions and maintain accurate attendance records.

Collaborate with curriculum staff to improve course materials and instructional resources.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a science-related field (master's degree, medical, dental, pharmacy, or graduate students preferred).

Competitive MCAT score.

Strong knowledge of MCAT-tested subjects.

Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to teach in an online learning environment.

Professional, organized, and student-focused.
