- Location: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person events in the Seattle–King County area

About Speak With Purpose
Speak With Purpose (SWP) is a nonprofit organization that empowers young people to become confident public speakers, storytellers, and leaders. Through culturally responsive, in-school public speaking programs and community speaking opportunities, SWP helps students recognize the power of their voices and use them with courage, authenticity, and purpose.
Speak With Purpose is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly organized Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator to strengthen our digital presence and tell the story of our students, programs, and community impact.
The coordinator will create and distribute digital content, manage monthly newsletters, develop social media campaigns, and support other marketing and communications initiatives. The successful candidate will be able to combine strong writing and visual storytelling skills with an understanding of audience engagement, content planning, key performance indicators, and digital analytics.

Key Responsibilities
Newsletter and Email Communications — 40%
- Develop, write, design, and distribute engaging monthly digital newsletters.
- Gather stories, program updates, photographs, data, and other content from staff and organizational stakeholders.
- Create compelling copy, graphics, and calls to action that encourage readers to engage with and support SWP.
- Manage the organization’s email marketing platform and subscriber lists.
- Monitor open rates, click-through rates, and other performance indicators.
- Recommend strategies to strengthen email engagement and grow SWP’s audience.
- Ensure all email communications reflect SWP’s brand, voice, and messaging.
Social Media Content and Management — 40%
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across SWP’s social media platforms.
- Develop high-quality graphics, captions, short-form videos, reels, and promotional materials.
- Transform student experiences, program outcomes, events, and organizational milestones into compelling digital stories.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across platforms.
- Develop and maintain a strategic social media content calendar.
- Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments and messages as appropriate.
- Track reach, engagement, audience growth, and other key performance indicators.
- Prepare brief performance reports and use data to recommend improvements.
- Stay current on emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices.
Marketing and Communications Support — 20%
- Assist with the development of digital and print marketing materials.
- Support event promotion, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach.
- Draft announcements, press releases, blog posts, website copy, and other communications materials.
- Maintain communications calendars, campaign schedules, and shared digital assets.
- Assist with website content updates as needed.
- Support special communications and storytelling projects.
Required Qualifications
- Experience or relevant coursework in digital marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, multimedia storytelling, graphic design, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience creating content for social media and email marketing.
- Ability to create polished, high-resolution graphics and visually engaging digital content.
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design tools.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
- Understanding of social media metrics, key performance indicators, and audience-engagement strategies.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant writing, design, social media, video, newsletter, or digital marketing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
- Experience with photography or event-based content capture.
- Familiarity with website content-management systems such as Squarespace.
- Knowledge of social media scheduling, analytics, and reporting tools.
- Experience developing content calendars or managing digital campaigns.
- Experience working with nonprofit, educational, youth-serving, community-based, or mission-driven organizations.
