Laboratory Tech (Recent Grads/Food Science/Microbiology/Chemistry)

Pride Health/Russell Tobin is hiring a Laboratory Technician to join a leading food manufacturing team.

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented laboratory professional to support cheese culture manufacturing, quality control, and GMP production operations. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment while supporting culture preparation, sterilization, packaging, and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Support cheese culture manufacturing, media preparation, and sterilization processes.
• Perform contamination testing, sample collection, QC testing, and maintain accurate production records.
• Assemble, disassemble, clean, and sterilize laboratory and production equipment.
• Prepare ingredients, formulate culture blends, and support packaging and frozen storage operations.
• Follow GMP, food safety, sanitation, and laboratory safety procedures while maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related Life Science discipline required or High School Diploma required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated food manufacturing or laboratory environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a production environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
• Experience with food manufacturing, quality control, laboratory operations, or culture preparation is preferred.

• Employment Type: 1 Year Contract opportunity.
• Schedule/Shift: Monday–Friday, First Shift
• Location: Morton Groove, IL 100% On-site.
• Work Environment: GMP-regulated food manufacturing and laboratory environment requiring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, lifting, and repetitive production tasks.
• Pay Range: $21/hr - $22.20/hr (based on experience).
