Job Summary:
Would you love to influence senior leaders with data-driven analytics, and work on an optimization project for Shanghai Disneyland Operations?
As an Associate Industrial Engineer at Shanghai Disney Resort, you help translate ideas into tangible innovation opportunities to improve the resort. Working on a diverse range of projects, you use analytical, consulting, and process optimization skills to help make a more-seamless experience for our Guests at every stage of their visit.
What You’ll Do:
· You will join a diverse team that helps to elevate Disney Parks and Resorts to the next level. We use analytics and continuous improvement strategies to solve business problems and improve the experience for our Guests.
· You will develop analytics to identify areas for improvement and change;
· You will create a plan with other engineers for a future development project;
· You will lead a field study to better understand an area of the theme park;
· You will strategize with multiple departments to find the next productivity boost;
· You will present to leadership to help drive change at the resort;
· You will develop relationships throughout the organization through cross-team collaborations;
· You will lead a brainstorming session about new approaches for optimization;
· You will research and benchmark topics relevant to your project scope;
· You will gain leadership development opportunities;
· You will coach interns so they can own their projects and contribute in a meaningful way;
· You will spend time in the theme park to observe operations, and gain process insights.
What To Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred;
- Strong analytical ability, conceptual thinking, and creative problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and partnering skills, with ability to communicate analytical information to non-technical audiences
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Success wearing a consultant's hat to help drive process improvements
- Expertise with spreadsheets, databases, statistical software, and building presentations
- Experience with capacity - demand analysis and modeling techniques
- Knowledge of conducting field studies and data collection efforts
- Able understand the impact of findings on the business, and develop recommendations for senior leaders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing conditions
- Resiliency – you're up for the challenge of continuous improvement, and have fortitude in the face of a "no" from partners
- Experience motivating your peers
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese, spoken and written
