After-School LEGO® Instructor

Love building with LEGO® bricks? Enjoy working with kids?

We're looking for energetic instructors to teach fun, hands-on after-school engineering classes for elementary students. No lesson planning. All curriculum and materials are provided-you simply bring the enthusiasm!

Earn $35 for each one-hour class, plus paid training.  Most instructors teach just 2–3 classes per week, making this an ideal position to supplement another job or school schedule.

Great for teachers, college students, retirees, and anyone looking for rewarding part-time work.  You must be 18 years or older to teach for us.

We provide all the lesson plans, supplies, and support-you just show up ready to have fun with the kids. Class sizes are small (up to 20 students), and our students choose to participate in our program! Build roller coasters, bridges, vehicles, robots, and engineering challenges using LEGO®, K'NEX®, Citiblocs and other creative building materials.

What you won't do: grade papers; write lesson plans, work evenings, weekends or holidays. Just one hour of hands-on engineering fun with excited elementary school students.

This position offers valuable experience; more than 23 of our instructors have accepted full time teaching positions after working with us. Great for those pursuing careers in education, engineering, STEM, child development, youth programming, and related fields.

  • Columbia Station / North Royalton: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (all start at 3:20pm)
  • Avon / Fairview Park / Rocky River: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (Monday and Tuesday start at 2:20pm; Wednesday 3:20pm).

Schedule & Compensation

  • Guide and manage students through engineering projects
  • Take attendance
  • Set up and pack up materials
  • Create a positive classroom

Qualifications

Experience working with children in educational, recreational, childcare, camp, volunteer, or similar setting is preferred. A passion for working with elementary-age students is essential.

Applicants should be punctual, dependable, organized, and comfortable leading groups of up to 20 students. Candidates must be comfortable using mobile apps for communication and scheduling, possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, and be able to lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time to transport program materials.
