Biologist II
Description
K3-Innovations is seeking a research scientist to join a dynamic team supporting biologics drug discovery and multispecifics engineering. This position will impact projects by expressing, purifying, and characterizing multispecific biologics. The ideal candidate should have basic protein and biologics experience and knowledge of best practices in protein production. The applicant should be familiar with a multitude of purification resins and techniques, AKTAs, and protein QC. An ideal candidate would also have experience with sequence analysis software and automation. They should possess excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for expression, purification, and remediation of multispecific biologics.
Characterize multispecific biologics (SEC, LC/MS, DSF, SDS-PAGE, endotoxin).
Utilize automation (e.g. Hamilton, AssayMap, Kingfisher) in biologics discovery processes.
Coordinate sample handoffs and aliquoting as necessary to enable timely delivery of material to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Position will be hired based on level of experience.
BS or MS in biology or related field with 2+ years (BS), or 0+ years (MS) of pharmaceutical and/or relevant experience.
Experience with protein and biologics expression, purification, and characterization.
Knowledge of analytical techniques to characterize proteins (e.g. SEC, MS, DSF).
Excellent organizational skills to track multiple requests and sample deliveries to ensure timely material delivery.
Familiarity with report generation and electronic notebook systems.
Skilled in the use of software programs, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Excellent communication skills to convey results of experiments and plan next steps.
Preferred:
Experience with multispecific biologics.
Hands-on with analytical techniques including SEC, MS, endotoxin measurement, and DSF.
Hands-on experience with SEC, HIC, IEX purification of complex biologics utilizing AKTA platforms.
Experience with automation (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton, etc).
Experience with antibody engineering, design, and optimization.
